Jesus drops in [Part one].
Ever been
sitting at home bored and alone thinking I wish some one would drop in to visit?
We all have
from time to time.
Well Jesus has
a habit of doing this in our lives especially if we ask him.
Revelation 3:20 Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hears my voice, and opens the door, I will come in to him, and will eat with him, and he with me.
He can show up in the strangest places at the strangest times.
One of those meetings was with the woman at the well.
It was strange because the Jews had no dealings with the Samaritans.
To really understand this a little research on the culture of the day adding to this she was a woman also.
Clearly Jesus was an advocate for woman’s rights.
This story shows us God loves and cares about all people class colour gender do not come into his love for humanity he loves us all just as we are he dose not love our sin and rebellion against him.
The bible records it like this in John chapter 4
5 Then cometh he to a city of
6 Now Jacob's well was there. Jesus therefore, being wearied with his journey, sat thus on the well: and it was about the sixth hour.
7 There cometh a woman of
8 (For his disciples were gone away unto the city to buy meat.)
9 Then saith the woman of
10 Jesus answered and said unto her, If thou knewest the gift of God, and who it is that saith to thee, Give me to drink; thou wouldest have asked of him, and he would have given thee living water.
11 The woman saith unto him, Sir, thou hast nothing to draw with, and the well is deep: from whence then hast thou that living water?
12 Art thou greater than our father Jacob, which gave us the well, and drank thereof himself, and his children, and his cattle?
13 Jesus answered and said unto her, Whosoever drinketh of this water shall thirst again:
14 But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.
15 The woman saith unto him, Sir, give me this water, that I thirst not, neither come hither to draw.
There is a bit more to this and you can look it up I your own time.
But what an encounter she had.
Sometimes Jesus will show up in his word the bible and warm the coldest heart.
He has appeared too many in vision dreams and visitations
A group of Christians began to record the accounts of Muslims who have seen Jesus in dreams [check out the testimonies on you tube] and there were so many accounts they have not been able to record them all and of there conversions to Christ.
Jesus has revealed himself in many many ways sometimes in clouds even photography .
The ways of God are not the ways of man this thread of truth runs right through the bible from start to finish
But the ways Jesus has has reveled himself to individuals is often deeply personal to that person, when a person has a divine encounter with Christ there life generally is never the same .
One of the most notable way Jesus reveals himself is through God's holy word the bible.
Also through people who love him and he use’s such people to reveal his goodness character and love this is why such people are called the body of Christ .
Has Jesus drop in to your life lately?
If you have locked the door of your heart for one reason or another and your heart is cold and hard he will not enter .
I know a man who has lived a ungodly life who is so suffering from a terminal sickness, and yet still his heart is hard and cold towards the things of God he has shut Jesus out put a padlock on his heart with a sign no entry sadly he might leave it till the last breath to unlock the door but it might be to late .
How many sinners think they can just continue in there sin and ungodly living till there time has come but the difficulty here is they never know when there time will come .
So will Jesus smash the door down of the hard hearten stiff necked sinner will he come in baton swinging windows smashing like a police drug raid in the middle of the night !
No certainly not .
Jesus is a gentleman who stands knocking and waiting but believe me he know just how to get the attention of sinners at the right time but he will not force himself on you or me if we say no to him
He is the perfect gentleman .
But the good news is he longs to drop in to day just ask him he delights in people just like you !
Know matter how you might feel about that .
Then there are people who have told me they just won’t to sort out there problems before they ask him to come into there lives and take control .
Well don’t waste your time he accepts you right were you are hung over from parties, tired, frustrated, disappointed, nails not done shirt not ironed , lip stick not applied and sin not covered .
Just like the doctor said to me when I had to drop my pants for a medical examination. ''Don't worry iv seen it all before ''
Jesus has seen it all before as well you can not shock him you can not surprise him he knows all of humanity's sins failings and wickedness, but he love's all humanity and longs for the true surrender of ever life to his unfailing grace is just waiting to forgive all who will come to him no matter how pathetic and unclean before him they stand its not new to him he seen it all before so today take that step of faith he will not disappoint you .
Ask and you will receive knock and the door will open
Pray along this line if you have difficulty with pray .
Dear Jesus i do not understand all of this but today i trust you with my eternal salvation and destiny .
I repent of all and ever sin i have ever committed all those things that are not pleasing to you Lord .
I ask you to remove the reproach cover me with your blood that you shared on Calvary and make me white as snow and make me born again .
I thank you Lord that now by faith in your name i am a brand new creation and a christian thank you Jesus amen .
Now just talk to Jesus in your own words get a bible and start reading the new testament starting at the book of Matthew .and join a good bible based church beware of cults such as the Mormons and Jehovah's witness they say they are christian church's but they are not .
The lord can lead you to the right people put your faith and trust in him today .
